20ha Waterfront Park and Marina
Cedar Park
The City of Gatineau hired Stantec Consulting Ltd. and Lapalme Rheault Architectes et Associés to design a multi-phase Master Plan for the marina and waterfront park. The 20-ha site offers programming for all-season activities. The amenities include beach volleyball courts, a baseball diamond, outdoor fitness stations, a multi-purpose fitness track and skating ribbon, gazebo, chalet, picnic areas, waterfront promenade, plazas, sculptures, boat storage, boat ramps, additional parking, accessibility standards, and multi-use paths for pedestrians, bicyclists, and waterfront users. All components of this project are in French.
Working alongside the lead Landscape Architect, Isabelle Lalonde, Aaron designed presentation drawings of the Master Plan for summer and winter usage, a cross-section, and actively offered design solutions to various areas. Aaron drafted multiple base plans with different options for meetings with clients and the public. He prepared an inventory and analysis for all existing and proposed permeable and non-permeable areas for both Phase I and Phase II. Followed by a full working drawing set for the first phase, shown below.
Lapalme Rheault Architectes et Associés designed panels as well as 3d Renderings. Aaron's role for the design panels were to render summer and winter master plans, and visually communicate the analyses on various pages. He used digitized hand drawn graphics alongside photoshop.
